Up to this point, I have been true to my site to
show and talk about the musicians of El Paso.
I have to make an exception and tell you about
this great group called Del Castillo. They are all
from Brownsville, Texas but based out of Austin.
The group has been together since 2001, have cut
three cd's and have made quite an impression on
those lucky enough to see and hear them. They
performed at the State Line on 7/9/08 ( in doors
due to the rain). They have been on a U.S. Tour
and will be returning back to El Paso on Aug. 1 where
they will be performing at Take II on Mesa St.
They are, without a doubt, five of the most talented
musicians in the business. Not only do they put on
an energetic and great show - they are all individually
really nice guys. My wife and I had some nice
conversations with each one of them after the show.
A challenge my wife is tackling is to try to get them
on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Check out
their site at: http://www.delcastillomusic.com/

Rick...my son Jason, who lives in Austin, turned me on to DC back in '03. They continue to be his favorite Austin band. On a visit I attended their NY Eve concert at a local Austin club. OUTSTANDING! Their music is in many Robert Rodriguez films and they are his backup band, Chingon.
I have all their stuff and they are outlandishly good.
